Matt King is a professional fly tyer and part-owner of Robinson’s Outdoor store located in Downtown Victoria, British Columbia. He is a signature tyer for Umpqua Feathers and his patterns have been featured in numerous publications. He can be found on most days in the fly shop on the second floor of Robinson’s. Him and his staff are always a good source of information regarding local lakes and rivers.

From the Robinson’s website: “Considered one of the Northwest’s most innovative tiers, Matt’s fly patterns have been featured in numerous fly fishing magazines, international journals, books such as Jim Schollmeyer’s Trout Flies of the West and Patent Patterns. They have also been exhibited at the Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, and are auctioned annually at the Pacific Salmon Foundation Benefit Gala.

Since moving to British Columbia, Matt has spent considerable time in pursuit of Pacific Salmon, Steelhead and Trout and enjoys creating new and innovative fly patterns.”
